HOPKINS AI LAB – BETA
DISCLAIMER
Thank you for participating in the beta testing of Hopkins AI Lab – Beta (“AI Lab”). AI Lab is a user interface, in beta form, created by Johns Hopkins (“us”) using open-source code that integrates and allows users to connect to various large language models (“LLMs”), such as Azure OpenAI, Meta Llama, and Anthropic Claude. By using this beta version of AI Lab, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Beta Status; Third Party Terms: AI Lab is in its beta phase and is provided “as is,” without any warranties. It may contain bugs, errors, and other issues that could affect its performance and functionality. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to improve its performance and reliability. AI Lab allows for use of third party LLMs. In addition to the terms here, your use of AI Lab is subject to the pass-through terms of use applicable to each LLM (as provided by the developer of such LLM via hyperlink or otherwise upon notice), instead of JHM preferred terms. It is for this reason that your compliance with this Disclaimer is important.
- Protection of PHI, PII, and Sensitive Data: Data inputted into AI Lab may be used by the developer of the LLM to improve the LLM and for other commercial purposes. In light of this, no protected health information (PHI), personally identifiable information (PII), patentable material, trade secrets, or other sensitive or proprietary information (i.e., information of a confidential nature that should not be publicly available) may be entered into or generated as output from AI Lab in its current Beta format.
- Usage Data; Feedback: During the beta testing phase, Johns Hopkins may collect data on your usage of AI Lab to help us improve its functionality. In addition, we welcome your feedback. By providing feedback, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free right and license to use, modify, and incorporate your feedback in any manner, including in connection with further AI Lab development, without any obligation, royalty, or other restriction based on intellectual property rights.
- Output Accuracy: Please note that AI-generated outputs may not always be accurate, complete, or up-to-date. In some cases, AI has been shown to hallucinate output (i.e., generate entirely fictional, false output). Users should exercise caution in their use of AI Lab’s responses. Users are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any output before relying on such output and in exercising their independent judgment.
- No Liability: As this is a beta version, Johns Hopkins and its affiliates are not liable for any damages or losses resulting from the use of AI Lab. Your use of the beta version is at your own risk.
- Termination: We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the beta testing at any time without notice. Your continued use of AI Lab after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
Please be advised that when the beta phase of AI Lab is complete, we will provide modified terms for your review and approval, which may grant greater usage permissions than those in these terms. Until then, by using AI Lab, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.
