Students, faculty, and staff are eligible to opt in to receive messages from the Johns Hopkins Text Messaging service. To do so, visit to https://my.jh.edu and login with your Johns Hopkins Enterprise Authentication credentials. Within myProfile, enter and validate your cell phone number, your cell phone carrier, consent to the Terms of Service, and then save myProfile.
In order to receive text messages on the cell phone number you provide, you MUST accept these Terms of Service, which are also provided to you within myProfile.
SMS Terms of Service
- Johns Hopkins is authorized to send text messages to my registered cell phone or other mobile device.
- The cell phone I am registering supports Short Message Service, otherwise known as SMS or text messaging.
- I am authorized to register this cell phone or other device for services such as: Johns Hopkins Emergency Alerts, Johns Hopkins University News and Events Notifications, JHMLink Notifications, or myIT Security Alerts and that this registration may result in charges.
- I understand that I (or the owner of my cell phone or other device) may be charged for any text messages Johns Hopkins sends me through such services. These charges will be made by my wireless service carrier according to the terms of my agreement with the carrier. Johns Hopkins will not reimburse me for messages sent through the service.
- I understand that neither Johns Hopkins nor my cellular service provider guarantees either delivery of a text message or the timeliness of a delivery. I understand that Johns Hopkins Emergency Alerts is provided without warranty.
SMS Privacy Policy
Johns Hopkins will not sell phone numbers provided by users of Johns Hopkins Test Messaging and will not provide the numbers to third parties for commercial purposes.
